One Tin Soldier

I love this song. It’s so demonstrative of our human condition, I think.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won’t be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after….
One tin soldier rides away.

I used to listen to that song when it originally came out … when I was a young girl/woman. I loved it. It was one of my favorite songs back then, but I didn't understand why … now I do.

I know what you mean…and sometimes, because of songs like that, I think I was born in the wrong decade.

Will never forget when a very young “sound/media man” but a clip of that on a cassette tape for me to use right in the midddle of a sermon back in the day. We were cutting edge…. :)
